How to use Litematica
A short, practical walkthrough. Follow the steps in order and you'll be building from a schematic in about ten minutes.
- 01
Install Fabric Loader
Litematica runs on the Fabric mod loader. Download the Fabric installer from fabricmc.net, pick the Minecraft version you want to play, and click Install.
Tip: match the exact Minecraft version of the schematic you plan to build.
- 02
Install the required mods
Drop these .jar files into your
.minecraft/modsfolder:- Fabric API
- MaLiLib (Litematica's utility library)
- Litematica
All three must target the same Minecraft version.
- 03
Launch Minecraft with the Fabric profile
Open the Minecraft launcher, switch the profile to Fabric, and start the game. Open a world and press M to open the Litematica menu.
- 04
Download a schematic
Grab a
.litematicfile from the Schematics tab. Save it into.minecraft/schematics. - 05
Load and place the schematic
In-game: M to open Litematica, then Load Schematics, pick your file, and click Load. Open Loaded Schematics, select it, and press Create Placement.
Stand where you want the build to start and hit Place. A holographic preview appears in the world.
- 06
Build it block by block
Gather the materials shown in the Material List (Litematica menu, Material List button). Place blocks that match the hologram, and use M -> Placement Configuration to rotate, mirror, or move the placement.
Prefer automation? Check the Mods tab for Litematica Printer, which places blocks for you on private servers or singleplayer.
- 07
Save your own schematic
Want to share a build? Use M -> Area Selection, create a new selection, set the two corners around your build, then Schematics -> Save Schematic. The file lands in
.minecraft/schematics.
